Before calling to book an appointment, please check with your referring doctor that a referral has been sent to our private rooms not through the public system. We do not have control over referrals sent to Dr Anderson through the public hospital.
If you are an existing patient, your referral is valid for 12 months from your initial consultation if issued by a general practitioner. However, if referred by a specialist or dentist, this is only valid for 3 months.
If you do not have a valid referral at the time of your appointment, your account will need to be paid upfront. This is due to not being able to send to Medicare for a rebate.
Please check with your referrer that your referral sent to Dr Anderson has a clear explanation of your ENT condition, symptomatology and medical history to enable appropriate triage of your referral. A referral stating ‘thank you for seeing Miss Smith” is not acceptable.
Dr Anderson will review your referral and this takes 7-10 business days. He will instruct staff the type of appointment to book and the urgency of the referral. We encourage you to contact our rooms for an update if you have not heard from us after two weeks.

If your referrer has requested that you have an audiology test, radiology test or any vestibular testing, please ensure the report/s are sent to referrals@nqent.com.au prior to your appointment.
You will be sent through a text message to confirm your appointment. All appointments will need to be confirmed no later than 24 hours or else there is a risk of this appointment being automatically cancelled. We do not have a cancellation policy however we appreciate you call our rooms to reschedule or cancel due to the high demand.
Unfortunately, at times due to extensive wait lists Dr Anderson cannot see all patients within a clinically appropriate timeframe and is unable to provide adequate care. Therefore, your referral will be handed back to the referring practitioner which will include further recommendations to another specialist. Dr Shane Anderson is now focusing on his sub-specialties of Paediatric ENT and Complex Otology.
